NCAA Women's Final Four in Tampa Bay

As a third time host of the NCAA Women’s Final Four, the Tampa Bay Local Organizing Committee understands the importance of storytelling from the onset. From the initial bid to site selection and the unveiling of the official logo, Tampa sought to build excitement and anticipation within the community.

Crackerjack Media developed a robust plan to help share inspiring stories with Tampa Bay. Owned media including newsletters, blog posts and videos were utilized to elevate the lasting impact of legacy initiatives. Social impact stories were shared with media early on, and a press conference served as the launching pad for building coverage around ancillary events. Local media was also armed with tools to efficiently plan for tight timelines leading to event week, including an inside track on storylines, daily previews, and access to a video and photo library.

Local/Florida-based news coverage for the 2019 Women’s Final Four topped nearly 14 million TV views in the eight weeks leading to the championship alone. Internationally, the Women’s Final Four earned an estimated 3 billion online views in the same timeframe. Tampa Bay was tuned in to all things Women’s Final Four, and throughout Championship week, city leaders, committee members, and NCAA staff noted the incredible event coverage.
